40 something single, works for NYC,trying to leave my job within 3-5 years. So that I can persue my other goals and dreams in life and travel with my mate.Forgot to mention I need to pay down my debt as well which is big.....
I know what you mean about waiting to start. I was going to do the same thing, but i decided that I could do a $20 challenge a month. For Nov and Dec, that would be $40 that I didn't have before. I think that it just starts you more of the thinking about where you can cut corners.
Something that helped me was when I had a garage sale a couple of months ago for the first time. I couldn't believe what people bought. Sometimes you have the bottom for something that someone needs. I look at everything with new eyes now. I couldn't believe how much money we made over stuff that I was literally hoarding or had sentimental value over. I started realizing that if I ever moved, I was never going to take this stuff with me. Anyway, getting back to the challenge, it will make you view any future buys differently. I'm also more likely to use my coupons for real now.
