New Bill To Pay

October 14th, 2006 at 11:20 am

When I switched to a new home owners insurance company. I informed my mortage company which they pay out of my escrow account. I sent all the information to the morage company so that they can pay the new insurance company. But because I switched to a new insurance company in the middle of the year. I have to pay the $225.00 that was owed for year 2006 and the mortage company stated that they will start paying the bill in 2007. When the new insurance cycles comes due. That's $225.00 out of my pocket. There goes the pay raise that I got. Oh well easy come easy goes.

Spent $225.00

I'm going to have the same problem. Our escrow pays insurance in July. so this year's escrow payments are set. My new insurance is less than what I am paying in. The insurance company sent me a refund for this last July's insurance payment-- prorated for this year, but I haven't talked to my mortgage company yet about the smaller amount from my monthly mortgage payment. Methinks I'll have to pay the whole amount until next July when they review and send me a refund from escrow. Which means I am paying too much in my mortgage that I can't get to. Rats.

I do not own a home so I really don't know much about escrow's but can you check your contract to see if this stipulation is noted?
